Tell us about yourself.

My name is Jacob Jackson and I am a vegetarian, a Taurus, and an underwear model. Outside of modelling I am a DJ while I also enjoy going to the gym, traveling and getting tattooed.

Why do enjoy modeling?

I enjoy modelling because when I was younger I was bullied a lot for being skinny, gay, and having severe eczema up my arms and legs. I was constantly ridiculed and made a joke of because I was different and had to wear gloves sometimes because my eczema was so bad that my hands would bleed all the time. Thankfully with the help of medication and creams, I managed to grow out of it. I was also bullied for being skinny, people used to make fun of my body all the time, it got to the point where I wouldn’t wear a t-shirt or shorts as it showed my arms and legs.

Where do you get your confidence from?

As I got older, I grew more confident about my body and found a passion for tattoos, I also learned to accept my flaws and my body and stop comparing myself to other people. Now I love showing my body and being naked, I am happy in my skin and want others to be inspired by me. It’s perfectly fine to be proud of who you are and the body you have. I love modelling for SGU because it’s so unique, (like me) we all have different styles and preferences so lets celebrate them together.

When do you feel your best?

I feel my best when I have had a good nights sleep. I always try to eat a balanced diet, go to the gym, dress well and have a good haircut.

What's your advice to your past self?

If I could pass on some advice to my past self, it would be to not worry about what other people think about you and your choices. I believe in being honest with yourself and others. It’s the key to feeling good about yourself, forging good relationships, and people know where they stand with you.

Which SGU pieces do you love the most?

My favorite items for SGU would have to be The Jimmer because they are a little naughty, just like me, and also The Leighton, because they are just so comfortable and show off my package.

What do you do outside of modeling?

I'm a personal trainer, group fitness instructor, and drag queen! I also work with influencers for a national campaign promoting a tobacco free lifestyle for LGBTQ+ young adults.

What are you passionate about?

I love marine science! I went to grad school for marine science and I love sharks. It would be nice to get back to doing that some day.

Why do enjoy modeling?

I like modeling because I love seeing myself on camera! Plus I get to live my ANTM fantasy.

Where do you get your confidence from?

I have to talk myself up to give myself confidence. In the age of social media, online validation isn't real and you are the only one who can give yourself confidence!

How are beauty standards changing in the industry?

People are looking for more diversity! Although it's still heavily focused on skinny white men with beards, I see the community expanding into more people of color and other minorities with amazing talents!

Tell us about yourself.

I’m a 28 year old Taurus living in Chicago by way of Michigan. I’m a huge Horror movie buff and comic book nerd. Super passionate about animals and trash TV.

What do you do outside of modeling?

Outside of modeling I work as a bartender during the day and at night I throw on a pair of heels and I become my drag alter ego Kalli Mauri.

What are you passionate about?

I’m super passionate about my drag career, my family, and teaching people about trans and non gender conforming visibility.

What's your advice to your past self?

My advice to my past self would be to just embrace my femininity. I spent so long being afraid of how others would view me and I denied my own happiness to conform to what others wanted. I would tell my past self to paint your nails and let the haters keep on hating.

Which SGU pieces do you love the most?

My most favorite pieces from SGU are The Christoper (not just cause we share a name), and The Parker because of the comic book vibe!

Zeddy

Height: 6'0, Waist: 30”
Location: Toronto, Canada
Instagram: @zedtheowl

Tell us about yourself.

My name is Zeddy, I’m 27 years old and I’m from Toronto, Canada. I graduated from the University of Toronto with a BSc, majoring in Human Biology and Mental Health. Academics aside, I’m the go-to for fashion and style ideas among my group of friends. I have a keen sense of personal style and I’m currently working on designing my own men’s fashion line. If my piles of Vogue magazines are any indication of my passion for fashion, then there is no doubt that the industry is meant for me.

Where do you get your confidence from?

My confidence really comes from what I’m wearing… I am quite soft spoken in person, so I choose to be loud with my style. What I choose to wear is an expression of my mood for that day; hence you will find a lot of sparkle and many patterns in my closet. I love seeing people express themselves with their own personal style, and I truly believe that what you wear says a lot about who you are.

What's your advice to your past self?

I wish I could have told my younger self this. In high school I was afraid to be myself. I was not out of the closet and did not have many friends to confide in. I thought if I wore the clothing that I actually liked, fellow students (and parents!) would start to suspect I was gay, and to me, it was too risky. If I could have given myself any advice, I would say wear whatever the f*ck you want! Fashion is always changing and is meant to be FUN. If you feel like wearing a sequin crop top, baggy jeans and a pair of heels… why not!? When you are wearing what represents you, confidence will manifest in your walk.

Why do enjoy modeling?

The first cycle of America’s Next Top Model (ANTM) really changed my life… and I’m sure for many other gays it’s done the same. I was immediately obsessed with the idea of modelling - being on a runway, photographed and praised by Tyra Banks herself seemed like the highest form of achievement! Since then, I became enthusiastic about modelling and photography, and spent several years developing the latter hobby. Though I did enjoy shooting others, I always liked getting in front of the camera and posing the house down boots. But it wasn’t until a few months when I decided I wanted to make a healthy change to my lifestyle that I thought about actually putting my best face forward. The mental and physical transformation I’ve seen on myself from eating better and working out is motivating me to pursue modelling.

How are beauty standards changing in the industry?

I think the beauty standards in the industry are changing for the better but it’s going to require more representation. In my formative years, finding diversity in the beauty industry was like trying to find a unicorn. Today, it would be in bad taste to not be inclusive of the beauty all around the world, but I still think a lot of progress needs to be made, especially for people of my skin colour. My family is from Guyana, we have Indian roots, I have brown skin, and I do not see a lot of this highlighted in the fashion industry. To add to this, there are a lot of negative perceptions in today’s political society associated with people of my skin colour. By being an ambassador and a role model to people who identify with me, I hope to makeover society’s idea of brown beauty.

What do you do outside of modeling?

I'm a vegan hairdresser, dancer and animal rights activist. I live life as if every day was the last day so I keep myself busy all the time. I'm also a tattoo lover, so I'm drawing my way through life on my skin.

What are you passionate about?

My biggest passion is dancing, I'm doing ballet at the moment but I've gone through many different styles such as hip hop, modern jazz, contemporary dance and many others.

Where do you get your confidence from?

I used to be a really shy kid with a big lack of confidence, I got bullied all the time at school just for being different, until I realized life is just too short to worry about what others think about you. I'm my only judge now..

Which SGU pieces do you love the most?

I really love The Raphael, they are so soft and comfy that I wear them all the time when I'm home.

What's your advice to your past self?

I would tell me that everything will get better, that being different will be my superpower in the future and that no matter what or who, life's too short to waste it with things that make you unhappy.

Why do enjoy modeling?

I enjoy modelling because it allows me to show who I am with confidence.

Where do you get your confidence from?

I’ve always been very shy about my personality and getting to know new people. It’s been empowering to find a different side of myself in being comfortable with my body. It’s pushed me out of my comfort zone and made me more in tune with myself.

What are you passionate about?

I’m an artistic person and I’m always trying to learn different styles in writing, drawing, music anything I can allow myself to be creative.

What is your personal style?

When it comes to clothing I aim more for comfort than appearance. I’m very casual about my style but when the clothes come off I’ll always have a variety of underwear to choose from.

How are beauty standards changing in the industry?

The ways beauty is adverstised is now more reflective of the customers buying these products. Now there is more opportunities for models who don’t fit into what some consider an ideal mold. By having more diversity on camera we can inspire confidence in a larger audience.

Tell us about yourself.

I am a professional teacher who has taken a strong liking towards dance, pole dance, and developing my own physical abilities of flexibility. I like to post my progress online for my own eye as well as others who may experience interest or desires in finding and/or fulfilling their unique passions. I like to think of myself as creative and am empowered most when new achievements are made. I have come to develop a behavior of finding myself and I am becoming less and less apologetic in the process of learning to be my true self.

What do you do outside of modeling?

Outside of modelling, I am a teacher. I enjoy working with children and taking an active role in their development towards becoming an adult. As a teacher, I have come to appreciate the little successes and enjoyments life throws at you which is why, on my free time, I like to get together with friends and family, explore the outside and travel. I have visited approximately 10 countries, four of which I have lived in. I have always learned the most by travelling and being curious. It is these two factors that I always try to foster in my classroom.

What are you passionate about?

My passion is mainly centered within knowing what I can do with my body. I enjoy creating forms of movement that draw upon strength, flexibility and dance in order to express a feeling. As a primary apparatus, pole allows me to do just that, all while feeling sexy in different men's garments. I feel a passion is something that should move you and for me, pole dancing does, literally and figuratively;it ignites every muscle in my body and moves me towards greater possibilities.

Where do you get your confidence from?

I believe I gain confidence in knowing who I am and what I can connect with. For me, I know I am a teacher, a pole dancer, gay and somewhat of a good cook. My understanding of this has not always been there though. Instead, I have 'endured' a unique journey with successes and failures that has given me more of an idea about who I am and what I want. I feel, as I continue to grow and become more aware of my own desires and wants in life, I am increasing more unapologetic to anyone who thinks I should be different. In short, I have gained confidence in knowing and appreciating who I am. The moments in which I realized I didn't need validation from others are the moments that have allowed me to just do me.

Which SGU pieces do you love the most?

Of all the fabulous choices supergayunderwear has to offer, I am loving the Donny. I find it fits perfect for myself and it is so light which makes it great for whatever fun exercise or movement you will be getting into. The Brian is also quite cute. It is a colourful swimwear piece that ensures you are kept in while also looking good. Go check them out! I am curious to find out more about the Amari. May have to try that next ;)

Tell us about yourself.

I am an advocate. I am a CFO. I am a father. I am queer. I am a man, who happens to be trans, and I am damn proud.

Where do you get your confidence from?

I tell myself constantly that I am awesome. I learned to be proud of the fact that I was unlike most people. And I realized that the only thing we are ever granted in this life is ourselves, so you better be rooting for you..

What is your personal style?

My style falls between hipster writing his novel at Starbucks to dapper businessman on his way to sign the big client.

Which SGU pieces do you love the most?

The Bodie! It is so comfortable, and I love the 1920s chic realness.

What's your advice to your past self?

You got this, kid. There are things I wish I did differently, confidence I wish I found sooner, but honestly, I would just tell myself, good job. Good job for fighting on, good job for making it through. I am me because of all that she was.
